As an officer in the service of your kingdom, you have demonstrated considerable potential. As you continue to rise through the ranks, your reputation grows and more volunteers line up to fight under your banner. Who will you choose to join your personal band of soldiers? There are a variety of NPC units at your disposal, and while you’re free to select any type you desire, the most astute commanders will recruit troops and adopt formations that complement their overall specialization and fighting style.

Soldiers and YouEdit

Each class has different strengths and weaknesses, and some specialize in troop combat more than others. Your service record is exemplary, and there is no doubt you will excel regardless of your class. However, you may want to determine how important your soldiers will be to your advancement, and choose accordingly.

Optimizing Your TroopsEdit

Train your soldiers well for optimal performance during battle! Good gear and good skills make a big difference.As you begin recruiting for your personal troops, there is some vital information you will want to review. As mentioned earlier, a wise commander will use troops and formations that fit their overall style. However, you will also be in charge of training these soldiers, as you will find many are raw recruits.

Charisma and You
Your Charisma affects your ability to lead others. If you are not able to inspire your troops, they will not follow you! Charisma per soldier needed is only 5 before upgrading, and increases by another 5 per upgrade, maxing out at 20 per elite.
Equipping the Troops
As you acquire the spoils of war, please be advised that your soldiers will perform better when they have better Armor. You will find many different types of gear as you travel, and your troops will be able to use some of it!
Learning New Skills
Soldiers can study and learn new skills to improve their battle abilities. During your journeys, you will find books that will allow your soldiers to learn new abilities.

You are setting out on a great journey, and you must choose your soldiers with care. As you surround yourself with these untrained military personnel, you will need to ensure they are capable of performing the functions you require of them. You must weigh the advantages of each soldier type and decide which best suits your own fighting style.

Level 1 Soldiers: AllEdit

Female Conscript

Conscripts are the lowest level soldiers available and can be purchased at the Conscription Officer in each city.

Male Conscript

Armor: Warrior Weapon: Polearm

Conscripts are the lowest level soldiers available and can be purchased at the Conscription Officer in each city.

Level 30 Soldiers: AllEdit

Female Guard

Armor: Fencer Weapon: Sword

Conscripts can upgrade to Guards at level 30, becoming more adept at combat.

Male Guard

Armor: Warrior Weapon: Polearm

Conscripts can upgrade to Guards at level 30, becoming more adept at combat.

Wolf

Armor: Fencer Weapon: Fang

The Emperor's beast handlers have worked hard to provide battle-trained wolves.

Eagle

Armor: Fencer Weapon: Claw

Imperial Falconers raised and trained these eagles to hunt with their owner.

Assassin

Silent and deadly, assassins have honed their throwing abilities to a fine art.

Dancer

Armor: Tactician Weapon: Fan

Keep your troops in top fighting shape with the help of the Dancer. Dancers are charming and tender, healing wounds even in the heat of battle.

Sword Soldier

Armor: Warrior Weapon: Sword

Intense training has given the Sword Soldiers mastery over dual-blades. They have become ambidextrous with swords, able to wield two at once.

Female Archer

Armor: Tactician Weapon: Bow

Archery is a precise skill, requiring both concentration and focus. The ranged attacks of Archers make them ideal support troops.

Martial Artist

Armor: Fencer Weapon: Hand

Martial Artists have developed their physical skills to unmatched levels, using hand weapons and armored fists to deliver devastating blows.

Cavalry Archer

Armor: Warrior Weapon: Bow

Cavalry units take full advantage of their mounted status, and the Cavalry Archers are an excellent example.

Level 60 Soldiers: MaleEdit

Shield Soldier

Armor: Warrior Weapon: Sword

Shield soldiers have high defensive capabilities, using heavy armor and a shield to protect themselves in battle.

Blade Soldier

Armor: Fencer Weapon: Heavy

Damage is the speciality for Blade Soldiers, wielding heavy weapons with deceptive ease.

Longbowman

Armor: Tactician Weapon: Bow

Longbowmen excel at precise long-range combat, but they are weak in melee.

Spear Soldier

Armor: Warrior Weapon: Polearm

Equally balanced in both attack and defense, Spear Soldiers are able to perform various strategies as directed by a player.

Basher

Armor: Fencer Weapon: Heavy

With heavy hammers and heavy blows, Bashers are designed to take out siege engines.

Light Cavalry

Armor: Warrior Weapon: Polearm

Light Cavalry has excellent melee capabilities and are well balanced in both attack and defense. Due to their high HP and abilities, they require more Charisma to command.

Battle Wolf

Trained to rend and claw, the Battle Wolf has been outfitted to withstand greater attacks.

Battle Eagle

Armor: Fencer Weapon: Claw

The Battle Eagle has been trained to wear a light armor to better protect it during battle.

Level 120 Soldiers: FemaleEdit

Elite Assassin

Armor: Mystic Weapon: Concealed

Intense training can turn even the nicest young lady into a dangerous killing machine.

Elite Dancer

Armor: Scholar Weapon: Fan

Additional time spent mastering balance techniques has increased the Dancer's talents into the realm of Elite.

Elite Sword Soldier

Armor: Tiger Cpt. Weapon: Sword

Practice makes perfect! When it comes to skill with a blade, the Elite Sword Soldier stands above the rest.

Elite Female Archer

Armor: Scholar Weapon: Bow

The Elite Female Archer wields bows with deadly skill, exceling in ranged support.

Elite Martial Artist

Armor: Blademaster Weapon: Hand

Perfect for melee support, Elite Martial Artists are difficult to overcome in combat.

Elite Cavalry Archer

Armor: Fang Cpt. Weapon: Bow

Due to their exceptional versatility and strength, Cavalry units require additional Charisma points.

Level 120 Soldiers: MaleEdit

Elite Shield Soldier

Specializing in defense, the Elite Shield Soldier is difficult to dislodge once they establish a foothold.

Elite Blade Soldier

Armor: Blademaster Weapon: Heavy

For sheer damage, the Elite Blade Soldier stands at the top of the list.

Elite Longbowman

Armor: Scholar Weapon: Bow

Elite Longbowmen are excellent for distance support, but keep other troops handy to tangle enemies in melee combat.

Elite Spear Soldier

Armor: Fang Cpt. Weapon: Polearm

Well-balanced Elite Spear Soldiers are good cornerstones for holding strategies together.

Elite Basher

Armor: Blademaster Weapon: Heavy

Carrying a large wooden hammer, Elite Bashers are perfect for siege situations and deal extra damage to siege weaponry.

Elite Light Cavalry

Armor: Tiger Cpt. Weapon: Polearm

With excellent attack and defense, the Elite Light Cavalry units are among the best soldiers. However, their excellence comes at the cost of additional Charisma demands.
